Havent updated my blog in a while, busy with uni but I thought I’d share my new and recent experience of a Thai restaurant in Stoke Newington. I went on the website before I had my christmas lunch there, and it mentioned that the restaurant won many awards and I was intrigued to dine at this place. I have to say, the place did live up to the standard represented on their website! I LOVED it there!! My love for Thai food has grown ALOT over the last year or two, as before this I never was a big fan. This place I would highly recommend to anyone out for a nice meal. Read on to hear about my dining experience and check out the pictures too!
Traditional seating on the floor, provided with cushions
Tables and other seating
Paintings and decorations around the place – Beautiful
Little tables at the bar section
Some of the seating at the bar/Lounge
More big & beautiful paintings displayed around the bar section
As you can tell from the above pictures, the place was very traditional and authentic. I did not experience the traditional ‘sitting on the floor’ experience, but I am going back to experience that, having a dress on and sitting on the floor wouldn’t have been ideal for me at the time! Overall, the place was beautiful. They also had a bar section, with comfortable seating and wonderful service. I couldn’t fault the service they had, as they were attentive.
Ok on to the food! Well, For all the muslims, you will be happy to hear that they are halal, which was good. ordered 3 starters between ourselves and I LOVED the starters. I’m more of a starters girl myself, maybe that’s why I love the little nibbles.
Mixed seafood tempura
I do love my seafood, but I draw a line at mussels or squids! This starter consisted of prawns, squid, mussels and Scallops. I LOVED the prawns, and the scallops were pretty nice too, however, I didn’t have the other two, but from what my friend said, it was pretty good.
Prawn and Chicken toast
Spices and sauces – some are HOT
We also got, chicken balls and prawn and chicken toast. I loved both of these, as they tasted amazing, like I said, im a starter girl so maybe that’s why. But I will highly recommend these as they tasted lovely! The lady who served us was lovely and asked me if we would like some sauces with that, warning us that some of them are hot, after hearing that, I had to try it! Some were quite hot and others were mild and it went really well with the starters!
Thai Red curry with Duck
Their special lamb curry with peanut sauce
Little wooden box and spoon for the rice
Egg fried rice
The main I ordered a Thai red curry with duck. The curry was amazing, but i took a risk with the duck and found out that I don’t really like duck! However, for duck lovers, this may be a good main for you.
Overall, the food was really good, and I couldn’t really fault them. the service was excellent and the atmosphere of the place was lovely!! I loved this place and cant wait to go there again. If you’re wondering what the price was like, well I believe the price is VERY good for the standard we get and I would say it cost 2 people around £50, considering we did get 3 starters. The price was very decent and even better, there is a car park right behind the place! Overall, I loved the place and I cant wait to go back there again to dine very soon!
Thank you for reading my blog! Hope you enjoyed it, check out a few other pictures below of the place and my experience. Dont forget to like or comment! 🙂
